Detail Studies
A series of hand-drawn, scaled technical studies covering wall assemblies, cladding systems, and connection details across a range of construction types.
Construction Practices: Building Envelope · B.S. Architecture, University of Colorado Denver
Each drawing was drafted by hand to scale with consistent line weights, hatching, and annotations, demonstrating close study of how buildings are actually assembled. The series spans wood light-frame and cold-formed steel construction, multiple cladding systems, roof assemblies, and stair construction — with each detail developed from first principles rather than traced from reference.
Systems covered include a WLF wall section from rafter to foundation, stucco cladding with double-V control joint, EIFS with joint detail, brick veneer with shelf angle and flashing, a precast curtain wall panel connection, a GFRC panel with flex anchor and tie-back, mullion anchors to spandrel beam, a door detail with steel lintel and brick veneer, parapet flashing and coping, and stair framing with balusters and face stringer trim.
